CLYDE JEANETTE SHORE

Advisory Partner

Clyde Jeanette Shore is an author whose work carries both devotion and lineage, a bridge between past, present, and what is still becoming. Her voice is grounded in family legacy, formed over time, and brought forward through story.

Her first book, My Purpose for Dying, published in 2023, is a work of nonfiction that follows the life of Ricky Frederick Shore. It is the true story of one man’s journey toward self-discovery and spiritual destiny during the height of the 1980s AIDS pandemic. Through it, she honors LGBTQ history and culture with care and depth.

Her second book, Chicken Bridge Road, published in 2024, is a historical fiction based on a true story. Set in the tobacco countryside of Chatham County, North Carolina, it centers on Pauline Hendrix Shore, a woman faced with a choice that will alter the course of her life. The narrative unfolds with a deep sense of place, exploring female resilience and generational strength while moving through complex and challenging realities, including women’s rights, domestic abuse, and violence against women and children.

At its center is a mid-century landmark 1958 acquittal case that ruled the act a justifiable homicide, anchoring the story in both history and consequence.

Beyond authorship, her presence extends into communications, literary activations, partner collaborations, and cinematic vision development, where the story continues to evolve across mediums. I’m deeply honored to work alongside my mother, carrying her legacy forward with love and intention.
