Assistant Producer
Cafe Tabac Film is an independent documentary feature that brings to life the iconic lesbian night, Sundays at Cafe Tabac in New York’s East Village, from 1993 to 1995.
What unfolded in that space was more than a weekly gathering. It was a cultural force that transformed lives and reflected a rising wave of visibility that moved through mainstream media at a time when being seen was a matter of survival, and the AIDS crisis continued to shape daily reality.
Directed and produced by Karen Song, alongside co-creator and producer Wanda Acosta, the film weaves together more than sixty personal narratives from LGBTQ patrons, hosts, and icons. Each voice contributes to a collective memory that is both intimate and historic.
My connection to this story is personal. As a Sundays at Cafe Tabac patron, I carry lived experience into the work, supporting the film through promotional events, sponsorship collaborations, brand alignment, public relations, and communications.
Cafe Tabac Film is currently in post-production, carrying the story toward its next chapter of becoming.
